Great to check the health of your caliber, regulate the movement, and it's just plain fun. I have a vintage omega seamaster 300M, among a few other omegas. I had it serviced recently after it stopped working. It took omega 3 months before it was done. They included a sheet stating that it was regulated to +4 seconds, a day, within cosc standards. I was excited to open it up and picked it up on the cushion, which was top heavy, and promptly dropped it. Felt like I fumbled the ball on the goal line with seconds on the clock. I set the time and put it in my watch case, came back 24 hours later and it lost 10 seconds. I tried setting it face down, 24 hours later it was another 11 seconds slow. I only wear it a couple of days per week, so I hate it losing so much time while sitting in the case.So I bought this timegrapher. I have an inexpensive watch with a seiko NH35 caliber, which runs 15 seconds fast per day, quite good for a NH35, though had a beat error of 1.1. I practiced regulating that and corrected it to +6 per day with a beat error of .2. I then checked the omega on the timegrapher, and it turns out that the average of the 6 positions is +4. It just has significant variation in the different positions. I discovered that if I leave it at a 45 degree angle between face up and 12 down, that it only runs +2 per day. So that is how I store it in my case, and everything is fine now. The amplitude, btw, is averages a great 300. If I hadn't gotten this, I would have lived forever with a watched that I believed to be slow, and be cursing myself about my fumble.
